πŸ’» SRM portal

Project Overview

Social Career is a volunteer platform that recruits volunteers for non-profit organizations (NGOs). In order to publish volunteer recruitment, NGO staff need to log into the portal system to create posts and post them to the platform. But the current design of the system does not match the actual situation of the whole recruitment. Many NGO staff complained constantly about the confusion when creating volunteer positions, resulting in extensive CS support and manual adjustments to the database due to NGO staff entry errors.

‍

My goal

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Reduce the users’ entry errors.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Allow users to finish the entire recruitment process on the portal and able to store the data for year-end reporting purposes.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Standardize the basic recruitment flow for all NGOs.

Stakeholder workshop

Additionally, I conducted stakeholder workshops to go through the recruitment process with key stakeholders (eg business teams, NGO staff).Β

πŸ• Design a standard recruitment process that meets the minimum requirements of all NGOs.Β

πŸ• Ensure alignment with stakeholder requirement

‍

‍

‍

πŸ’‘ Painpoint

a. Lack of standard creation flow across all organizations.

b. Data Clutter and Inconsistent Formatting
‍

‍

Ideate the product scope

I designed the sitemap and user flows for the portal on the module levels to cover different features.

Challenges

Visualise my ideas

Afterward, I drafted the wireframe for the portal and discussed it with business team to confirm the direction and requirements.

‍

Step-by-Step Data Entry

Divide the creation process into different steps, so that users can concentrate on filling in the information one by one, avoiding too much data and reducing entry errors.

‍

‍

Optimized Data Formatting

‍

Provides clear data structure through consistent format presentation. Try to use the best formatting options for the data, especially form fields.

‍

Match Field Types for Accurate Input

Use the correct field type for the data input.
E.g. Radio button for only 2 options field

‍

Ensuring Accurate Inputs and Actions

Use validation checks whenever the user tries to save data and double-check important actions to make sure the user is doing it correctly.
